Stephanie Thomas, Vermont children's author

Stories that help children feel seen.

Stephanie Thomas is a Vermont children's author who writes magical, sensory-friendly picture books. Her stories explore sound sensitivity, sensory discomfort, selective eating, big feelings, and communication differences with compassion and imagination.

Stephanie grew up on a small hobby farm in rural Wisconsin, where imagination turned ordinary places into doorways to other worlds. After building a career in business and training, she returned to the creative work that had always called her home.

Now living near the Vermont–Quebec border, Stephanie writes children's books that blend wonder with emotional truth. A writer, parent, and lifelong learner, she completed her Creative Writing degree and also publishes creative nonfiction. She is studying anthropology and developing middle-grade and crossover fantasy.
